NEW YORK, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ — Clear Channel Radio New York’s Power 105.1 (WWPR-FM), R&B, Hip Hop and Back in the Day Joints, is pleased to announce that Malikha Mallette will move to co-host on “The Ed Lover Show,” 5:30-9:30am and DJ Envy is Power 105.1′s new afternoon personality, 2-6pm weekdays. The announcement was made today by Cadillac Jack, Power 105.1′s Program Director.
Cadillac Jack stated: “I’m thrilled to have DJ Envy add his energy and expertise to the Power team in afternoons! Moreover, Malikha and Ed have a chemistry reminiscent of any great entertainment team. These 2 moves create the ultimate one-two punch for Power 105.1.”
DJ Envy stated: “I’m excited to start hosting afternoons at Power 105.1. Now I’m with the first person that put me on the radio, Ed Lover, and the person who taught me how to mix, DJ Clue. I’m honored to join a young team of talented jocks. The grind begins…it’s Movvinn!!!”
Malikha Mallette stated: “I was flattered when Cadillac offered me the position, yet leaving my own Afternoon show is bittersweet. However, the opportunity to do morning radio in NYC with a legend like Ed Lover was a no brainer! Bring on the morning madness!”
Malikha Mallette, born and raised in Queens, New York, never intended on being in front of the microphone until a casual conversation with a Program Director during a college internship changed everything. Within months, Malikha moved from an internship to a radio personality at V-103 in Atlanta where she made her start. She soon moved from her overnight shift in Atlanta to Middays at X-105.7 in Baltimore, MD. Malikha was also on air at WPGC in Washington D.C. before moving to her hometown, NYC, and becoming a DJ for Power 105.1. During Malikha’s radio odyssey, she began working in television, hosting everything from community & public affairs programs to entertainment and lifestyle shows.
DJ Envy, aka, “The People’s Choice,” turned his passion for music into a career when he learned and perfected the art of mixing at the young age of 17. It began in high school when the future Mix-tape King became a fixture on the local party scene. Born and raised in Queens, New York, the young entrepreneur created a name for himself by selling his trademark mix-tapes to local record stores and bootleggers in the tri-state area. After high school, he decided to attend Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia to pursue a degree in business management. It was in Virginia that Envy developed his appreciation for music on a national level. His tenure in Virginia helped prove to himself and the world alike, that he’s not your average New York City DJ.

On the next Double Down Film Show we’ll rap to Assistant Director, Greg Staley, who has helped to shepherd a dozen plus independent films through production over the years.
One of the unsung heroes on any set is the A.D. Hiring a good and experienced Assistant Director can be the difference between making the day and busting the budget or the difference between a well-functioning crew and a chaotic set. Few positions on set can have the impact to make or break a production the way the A.D. does, so understanding their role is vital to your project’s success.
What little production secrets do A.D.’s know that you don’t?
What type of temperament does an A.D. need?
Who’s on the typical A.D.’s team?
What type of logic goes into scheduling a big day?
When should you bring an A.D. onboard and what can do they do for you?
…The answers to these pressing questions and more will all be revealed on the next Double Down Film Show. Straight answers to real filmmaking problems from some of the best artists and craftspeople in the industry delivered straight to your ear every Wednesday night. Listen and learn.

On the next Double Down Film Show we’ll delve into the fine art of Shameless Self-Promotion. If you make a project and nobody knows about it, does it really exist?…Our answer is, No. In order for a project to have a successful launch, the public must first be made aware of it. A project only exists in the public consciousness when someone plants it there. Thanks to the digital age, there are more ways than ever to plant the seeds of your project in the public’s mind and many of them are free or dirt cheap.
* How can you establish credibility as an unknown filmmaker?
* Why should you brand yourself?
* How can you establish and maintain a healthy online presence?
* What can you do to partner with like-minded communities?
* How can you put your fans to work for you?
* Why is networking one of the most important things you can do?
Listen in as we break down the answers to these questions and more in a live consulting session with Double Down Film Community member, Hiral Shah, whose new comedy TV series, DeSiCiTi, is a hilarious and timely South Asian spin on love and sex in New York City. Using DeSiCiti as a case-study, we’ll give our specific strategies for establishing a stronger presence online, attracting free promotion, partnering with other people and otherwise making a name for yourself and your project as you launch your first efforts. Every Wednesday night, listen and learn.
