Charles Tanqueray Turns 200

I wonder what folks will be doing for me in the year 2177. The world’s gonna be a pretty crazy place by then, but last night in NYC Team Epiphany put together another celebration for the man behind the gin. It’s safe to say Charles Tanqueray did not picture anything like this in 1810, but nevertheless the brainpower in the place was off the charts, between creatives and executives, and the drinks were well designed thanks to mixologist Kali Erwin. I’m a member of The Ubuntu Tribe — some forward thinking creative folks who believe in the mission of Ubuntu Education Fund. This pic is me and my homie Curtiss introducing Antibalas before they perform at Rock The Bowl, a great event and charitable fundraiser that Ubuntu threw a few weeks back. I’ve witnessed firsthand the amazing work that Ubuntu does in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and invite you to check their WEBSITE and contribute to the cause.

Peep a gang of flicks from my trip to South Africa HERE!

And if you’re too lazy to read, check out the video I directed for Ubuntu after the jump! You’ll get a great overview on their amazing contributions to the township of Port Elizabeth…

Last night Team Epiphany threw an intimate launch party for the We Resist Simple Lifestyle Community. They chose the Library Room at the Soho House — an appropriate spot for something like this.

Mirror with Tanqueray on it + some clean glasses…

Be sure to visit my WE RESIST SIMPLE page to check out some more images. And thanks to everyone that’s been joining the conversation. Keep on rating and commenting on my posts … I’m trying to deliver an entrepreneurs handbook with every blog. My latest is on how to control that first impression, since you never get a second chance!

This Thursday, July 30th, swing on out to Brooklyn Bridge Parl and check out our friend Jesse Ash’s great short documentary called ICEBOX BLUES. The short goes on around 8pm but for good seats they recommend getting there between 6pm and 8pm. The films opening for Hitchcock’s “To Catch A Thief”

ICEBOX BLUES SYNOPSIS:
Major crises don’t usually come from broken appliances, but when his mom’s fridge died, a seemingly small event leads the filmmaker to some big questions about energy consumption.
