Magic Hour is always classic, whether you’re on the east coast or it’s a Saturday evening on Main Street in Santa Monica, California. August 14, 2010. Shot on the Canon 7D.

Episode 6 – The Directors, Part 1 from Patranila Jefferson on Vimeo.
Last summer I was a guest director at Hollie Harper’s Playgroup. I totally forgot they had filmed this exercise. Click above to see what happened…

I started my career, if that’s accurate to say, when I picked up one of these bad boys back in 1993/94. Used to develop the black and white footage myself, and send the color film to Texas. I’m looking to use one for a project I have to do and wanted to know if any of you good people out there have a Super 8MM camera that I can either rent from ya, borrow, or whatever. Hit me on TWITTER and we’ll figure it out. Or comment here if for some reason you ain’t tweeting!

Anthony Artis snagged this pic from last night’s meeting when I wasn’t looking. Gotta capture the images that go with the grind. We’ve got a whole new business model coming your way. Tick, tock, tick, t…

Mad options, gotta try ‘em out. This is me and Mom Dukes looking at something that will soon be a video post for all to enjoy. The B&W is always classic. Check back next week for that…enjoy the rest of the weekend. No more blogging from me!

Even though Canon wouldn’t bless me with a freebie, I love this camera. I’ve been taking a bunch of shots lately and figure I might as well share ‘em with ya every now and then. This was on the Santa Monica boardwalk, taken by my sister, to my settings of course. She’s just learning the manual thing. I like the blown out background, but that may just be a matter of taste. Stay tuned for periodic shots…

I’ve given more than enough love to the iPhone App that produced this picture, and since they’re not paying me, well…2 is gonna be the charm. I was on the Paramount Lot today for a great meeting with the folks behind Paranormal Activity and a great slate of microbudget indies and I’ll be 100 with it and say everytime on a studio lot I feel nostalgic, impressed, and a bit giddy. Especially with the way they handle your guest pass. Pretty dope, eh?
I’ve got one more meeting before I bounce, with Ms. Amber Rasberry from Tyler’s 34th Street Films, and then it’s back to NY for more mean mugging, hustling, and subway travel. We fancy!

…Pasadena Palm Trees…
@studioalvarez put me on to this app over the weekend. It SIGNIFICANTLY improves what you can do with the iPhone camera for $1.99. Well worth it. I’ve got my 7D on hand, but sometimes you just don’t feel like carrying it with you. Peep a couple more flicks after the jump!
