Ubuntu Education Fund EPK from Double 7 Film on Vimeo.
December 1st is World AIDS Day and I ask all of you to take a moment to consider the realities of this epidemic.
For 2 weeks in June and July of 2008, I was in Port Elizabeth, South Africa directing the electronic press kit for Ubuntu Education Fund. They do OUTSTANDING work in the Ibhayi Townships which suffer from 80% unemployment and a 40% HIV infection rate.
I hope you will visit their site HERE to learn how you can donate to the cause. Like I said, they are doing BEAUTIFUL work and anything that you can contribute is monumental.
Watch the project above to learn more about what Ubuntu is doing and CLICK HERE for a few photos from our trip.
THANK YOU.

CALL+RESPONSE is a first of its kind feature documentary film that reveals the world’s 27 million dirtiest secrets: there are more slaves today than ever before in human history. CALL+RESPONSE goes deep undercover where slavery is thriving from the child brothels of Cambodia to the slave brick kilns of rural India to reveal that in 2007, Slave Traders made more money than Google, Nike and Starbucks combined.

I’m busy eating, drinking, and getting my FinalCutPro skills up, but the blog can’t be overlooked! Nothing new to report, so here is a throwback Podcast:
If you’ve overlooked every blog we have posted here at Double 7 World, do not fail to pull the trigger on that mouse in your right hand! Click away and LISTEN TO THIS POST. I met with Dan Schechter of Renart Films last year and talked about, as Dan put it:
- How Pete Chatmon makes shit happen.
- Being the next “Next Spike Lee.”
- Raising money (the hard way.)
- Pete’s wonderful, feature-length directorial debut, Premium…
- And more!
I hope you find it informative!

And tomorrow? Have that big ass turkey sandwich you’ve earned over the past 11 months.

3 clicks and it’s embedded in the site. I don’t even know why I did it. Another one for the “You Played Yourself” files.
See y’all over at DROM tonight … I’m heading over in a few (a few means about 10 minutes). Pics from the event will be up between tomorrow and your first serving turkey.
