51 years ago today the King of Pop was born. I remember this performance growing up, but I think I first saw it on VHS. All I know is that everyone and their momma was trying to moonwalk immediately after this. And to think he was unhappy about how he did…that he hadn’t hit all of his marks. We should ALL apply that type of work ethic to our art, business, craft, and any task we undertake. PS: pardon the annotations the poster put on during the video.

I think we’ve all had a sort of weird reaction to the news of MJ’s passing, as well as the news of the news of MJ’s passing. I felt pretty sad about the whole thing, but also felt sort of accosted, like the media was trying to invade my attention more rabidly than ever. This reaction to the events surrounding the death of one of the greatest performers of all human history is more on point than anything else I’ve come across. Jay was also interviewed for The Sound of Young America in the immediate aftermath and said some other, also very insightful reactions. Listen to that.
